Our Menus



The Tolbooth is renowned for its innovative seafood menu. The blackboard features the ‘daily catch’ with freshly caught langoustines, lobster and crab a regular feature. Our food is based on superb locally sourced produce which our chef turns into modern contemporary dishes with light aromatic sauces and dressings which compliment, not mask the flavour of our food.

Everything is made in the Tolbooth’s kitchen, from the bread rolls, to ice cream, and even our fabulous white chocolate fudge served with the coffee, this is so good it can be purchased to take away, although it is so good it may not last the journey home!!

We are more than happy to cater for most allergies, please advise us when reserving your table of your intolerence/allergy. The chef will be happy to discuss any special requirements you may have.

Children are most welcome at The Tolbooth as long as they are well behaved. We have a selection of dishes suitable for our young guests and many of our regular menu items can be ordered in smaller portions.

Our restaurant a la carte menu is available lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Sunday. We are open from 6pm and last orders are 9.30pm, 9pm on a Sunday.

The menu changes four times a year to incorporate the best local, seasonal produce. We do make every effort to keep these menus updated, however our menus do sometimes change at short notice depending on levels of catch at the harbour and local markets.

Lobster – the Lobster season runs fom May till the end of September, during this period we aim to have lobster most days, this again relies on the availability from local fishermen and the Scottish weather! If you are particularly wishing lobster at anytime of the year please phone the restaurant and we will endeavour to fufil your request

We aim to provide a good value, good quality lunch menu, using the best quality fish we can find at a reasonable price. This means that this menu may change at without notice due to market conditions.

For parties of 10 guests or more we will require a menu pre-order and a table plan with names and chosen dishes of each guest.

A 10% service charge will be added to tables of 6 or more.

New Year’s Eve Dinner

New Year's Eve


The price is £120 per person for 5 course dinner plus champagne and canapes on arrival and coffee and petit fours to finish. Dinner can be reserved between 7pm and 9pm depending on availability.

In order to make a reservation we require a 50% deposit and the balance of the meal to be paid by 31st October 2016. If you are wishing to book, please call the restaurant directly on 01569 762287 with credit card details.

On the evening people are welcome to come and go from the restaurant as they wish and will be allowed entry back into the restaurant up until 11.50pm. The bar will close at 12.30pm and the restaurant will have to be vacated by 1am.

An 8% service charge will be added to your bill.



Private Dining



The Tolbooth is available for exclusive events seven days a week and we can cater for up to 50 guests for a meal or 100 for a drinks and canapés reception.

The restaurant is a unique space and lends itself to all occasions; family parties, weddings, christenings, birthdays and dinner parties, both business related and social get togethers.

Our chef will prepare a menu specifically tailored to your individual requirements, which will include some of the finest seafood and game in the world.
